United States Steel Corporation (X) slipped to a loss of $80 million or 36 cents per share for fourth-quarter 2023, against a profit of$174 million or 68 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.Barring one-time items, adjusted earnings per share were 67 cents, down from 89 cents a year ago.
